As
advanced technology has been deeply integrated
and brought about radical changes in the past labor-intensive
construction industry, there has been a growing
need for developing innovative industrial materials
to cope with such sweeping changes. This is where
the role of ALC (autoclaved lightweight concrete)
comes in, a standardized material that capitalizes
on advanced technology and displays multifaceted
functionalities.
This lightweight aerated
concrete material is steam-cured under
high temperature and pressure, mixed with silicon
and cement and produced through an automated state-of-the-art
system.
ALC was first
developed in Sweden in the 1920s. Since then, the
material has gained wide acceptance in Europe, especially
during restoration of the cities after World War
II. In Korea, Poong Lim opened an era of ALC with
the introduction of Siporex in 1989.
High-performance and multi-function
will be key features to determine the competitiveness
of materials in the future. Standing at the forefront
of such changes, Poong Lim ALC will continue to
be a material of choice with its excellence in thermal
insulation, fire-resistance, sound-proofing and
constructability. |
