Safety
on Track |

|
In 2004, Poong Lim initiated
"Safety on Track Campaign", a movement
designed to establish an efficient safety
control system to reduce occupational
hazard and enhance corporate credibility.
The campaign includes activities as
follows;
1) Pre-work Inspection
- Identify potential hazard and issue
corrections
- Operate rotational shift for safety
patrol. Employees assigned for patrol
shall present the report not
less than twice a day.
2) Hazard Categorization
Divide each site into 3 areas of red,
green and yellow to develop efficient
approach to potential hazard
- Category 1 Red
Area
: Subject to monthly inspection and
random check to ensure constant follow-up
and improvement
- Category 2 Green
Area
: Subject to bimonthly inspection, designated
as Self-Controlled Safety Area
- Category 3 Yellow
Area
: Subject to quarterly inspection
3) Employee Suggestion Program
Launch "Employee Suggestion Program"
to call upon every individual to play
an active role in safety control.
- Encourage voluntary participation
of employees in risk prevention. Identify
and eliminate potential
hazards in advance.
- Introduce Employee Awards Program
designed to recognize an individual
or a team twice a year who
suggests fresh idea for
better safety protection. |
|
Field
Safety Training |
|
Provide "Field Safety
Training" to supervisors of vendors
who have potential to be exposed to
major risk. The training is designed
to improve safety awareness and offer
first-hand insights into potential risk
and methods of mitigation.

We have acquired ISO 14001 Certificate and
established environmental management system
that allows us to have efficient pre-monitoring
to prevent and minimize environmental hazards
before the execution of the project. To have
rigorous environment control in place throughout
all job sites, we have set up a team dedicated
to environmental management. We have also
joined our hands together with neighboring
job fields to form a voluntary environmental
management association. Poong Lim will continue
to work towards a better balance between use
and conservation of environmental resources
and towards further integration of environmental
sustainability and community interest in commercial
decision-making. |
